The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office in Hertfordshire is keen to recruit people
from all backgrounds who live, work or study in Hertfordshire to make a positive
contribution to the process of Stop and Search by taking part in the scrutiny process.
The Scrutiny Panel meets each month for between two to three hours to discuss, monitor and scrutinise how Hertfordshire Constabulary are carrying out Stop and Search. Training will be provided and members will be subject to vetting procedures.
The Panel is looking to recruit up to 15 new members to take part in the dip sampling of
the Stop Search forms and review of body worn camera footage in order to achieve
greater transparency and involvement in the use of Stop and Search powers across
Hertfordshire, and improve public confidence and trust in how the tactic is used.
