‘Equal Herts’ is our project supported by the Big Lottery Fund designed to bring together community and voluntary groups within Hertfordshire, to highlight the equality and diversity issues that are being experienced by communities and to begin to develop and share the knowledge and skills needed to address them.
‘Equal Herts’ Survey
As part of this project, we are seeking input from community groups and organisations on their experience of equality issues, challenges faced and interactions with public sector bodies. Please fill in our (very short) survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WBXV87J.
‘Equal Herts’ Event
HEC is committed to ensuring that the voice of the community and voluntary sectors are heard on equalities issues in Hertfordshire with adequate engagement with, and support from, the public sector.
Cuts in public funding are proving very difficult to ensure the public sector address the needs of disadvantaged communities.
Many communities feel isolated and services are disappearing without proper consultation.
The Equal Herts event aims to explore:
- how a voice for Hertfordshire communities can be more effective
- what we need to support disadvantaged communities/groups
Join us on Wednesday 21st March 6pm-8.30pm at the Focolare Centre for Unity, 69 Parkway, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6JG.
